Hello All! Snow at last! We hope you’re enjoying a beautiful start to the holiday week. With Matt’s trail prep and more snow in the forecast, we may be open for skiing come this weekend. While you’re out and about for weekend to-do’s or on the farm post-ski, come say hi at the Marketstand on Sundays all winter long from 9am-1pm. For our Wholefarm CSA members, don’t forget to pick out and take home your wreath! From the evergreen boughs to the dried flowers and grasses, our wreaths are entirely grown from the farm. Also in the Marketstand, our dried bouquets will make a very special gift this holiday season- they’re everlasting bundles of our 2025 Spring and Summer fields.

A sweet Italian heirloom onion, those smaller pearl-like onions are the Cipollinis (Italian for tiny onion). Roasted whole, their sweetness shines. Here’s some simple instructions delivering complex flavor: https://www.seriouseats.com/easy-roasted-cipollini-onion-food-lab-recipe or

Buttercup Squash is fantastic for halving, roasting, and stuffing with an array of ingredients- veggies, grains, and cheeses. It also lends itself to any sweet or savory place you like to use winter squash. If you plan on holding on to the buttercup til after the leftovers run out - try it in a chili or stew. https://dishingupthedirt.com/recipes/soup/pumpkin-chili/

The potato variety full share members are receiving this week is the German Butterball. As the name suggests, they’re indeed buttery with a creamy texture and a hint of sweetness. You’ll want to savor each bite!

With your carrots alone, or other root veg to accompany, a whipped tahini sauce is a great compliment to the roasted root. https://betterfoodguru.com/roasted-veggies-with-whipped-tahini/

These are a few of our ideas, but we’d love to hear about what other recipes you tried and enjoyed when you’re picking up your next CSA! Have a Happy Holiday and Enjoy!
