Welcome to the new year Whole Farm Supporters!

Most have you have been with us for awhile, and we thank you for continuing to let us be your farmers. Welcome to our new friends! We do have a few more spots left for the season if you want to spread the information to any friends.

We have continued to roll on through with putting out produce but we did miss a week of newsletter/reminder as we set up the new season email list. So If you missed a box last week, it is still in the cooler along with this weeks produce. We had eggs for everyone this week and if you haven’t grabbed a chicken yet this month, they are in the chest freezer.

This was the last of the storage carrots, potatoes, and onions, and the first of the fresh roots with the Cutie little French Breakfast Radish. The between season csa boxes from now until mid June are designed to be smaller than what you’ve been getting in the summer and winter csa boxes. Fresh greens, micros, and some roots from the greenhouses and high tunnels will be the predominant things over the next several months. Lots of spinach, chard, kale, and micros coming your way.

Our weekly schedule will remain until June: Market style pick up from noon to 6pm on Wednesdays, box pick up after that for a week for those who can’t make it during that time. Expect eggs most weeks until next December. Chickens come out the first week of the month, meat packs the 3rd week of each month, and other goodies as available. Help yourself to cider in the freezer, just mark things down on your check out page!

On the farm, these days, we’re seeding the first vegetable and flower seedlings of the year. We’ll be traveling to Billings next week to pick up the first batch of our weaner pigs! Idaho Pasture Pig x Berkshire x Meishan. We hope to be able to introduce these pigs into a more grazing based production model and can’t wait to see these little squealers! Shearing of our flock of sheep will happen in early March, and if you’re interested in lending a hand, stay tuned. We’ll need fleece skirters, hoof trimmers, and sheep handlers to help our pro Eric Stedje who does all of the shearing. We have ongoing greenhouse construction at the Rocky Creek side of the farm, and any day we have fresh snow, Matt is out grooming our 12 km of nordic trails! Farm camp went on sale at 9am this morning, and we sold out over 200 spots in about 15 minutes. Crazy.

You should see an invoice next week for your first payment, if you haven’t yet, let us know what you want for a payment plan.

I had Cookbook Club this week with my girlfriends and we used Maya Kaimal’s Indian Flavor Every Day and everything was so good! I included the recipes from some of my favorites and I was proud they were made with our meat and veggies from the farm!

Love from the Farm on this Valentines Day,

Jacy & Matt
